    It might have been a distant fog horn? Sometimes you can hear them from very far away. Sometimes the boat motors make a hum across the water as well, sound carries in a strange way over water.

    When you were there did you hear that really creepy noise way off in the distance ??
    Can you explain what that noise was do you know what it was??
    It was somewhere in the water it made the noise costantally the whole time I was there it creeped me out alot!!!

    thank you I was there on the july 15 of 2008 with my wife and now trhat she is gone this brought back some nice memories. we walked in the same area and ate at that rest. they had great chowder.
